18 may – international museum day 2022 in the kobarid museum

The International Council of Museum – ICOM marked 18 May as International Museum Day in 1977 with the purpose to strengthen the recognition of the museums in society and its development. This year International Museum Day will on Wednesday 18 May 2022. Several activities are planned that will alert and promote the strength and values of Slovenian museums. An outdoor exhibition of posters will be opened in Ljubljana and will be available to the audience between 17 and 30 May 2022. Main topic of the exhibited posters is power of museums. 

Each year more and more museums are joining the festival and The Kobarid Museum is not an exception. On Wednesday 18 May 2022 the entrance to the museum will be free for all visitors. For payable guided tours, we need a booking at least one day in advance. Welcome to The Kobarid Museum, which expects you with the permanent exhibition, renewed plastics and two temporary exhibitions. Kobarid and The Soča Valley, which are in anticipation of the cycling tour Giro d’Italia, are expecting you!
