The Kobarid Museum has good cooperation with a town Brannenburg in Bavaria, Germany. The town hosted museum’s exhibition The Great War in Krn Mountain Range few years ago. In the remembrance of the Bavarian soldiers who were part of German army in the 12th Isonzo offensive former barracks in Brannenburg was named Karfreitkaserne.
With the invitation of the Brannenburg mayor Mattias Jokisch delegation from the community of Kobarid, including mayor Marko Matajurc and director of the museum Martin Šolar attended the opening of information point Karfreitkaserne in the chapel which is the last structure of the former complex of barracks. During the opening, mayors of both towns pointed out the importance of the historical relations between towns, which is a base for better cooperation in the segment of tourism and economy. General Consul of Slovenia in München Dragica Urtelj also attended the opening.
